  • DVD/Blu-ray

    • Abraham Lincoln vs Zombies – Blu/DVD – While the Civil War rages on, President Abraham Lincoln must undertake an even more daunting task: Destroying the Confederate Undead. (via amazon.com) Another Mockbuster from Asylum, less horror more action. Fans of the studio will probably enjoy it, others well maybe less so.
    • Best of the Best 3: No Turning Back – DVD – Tommy Lee takes on a band of ruthless white supremacists that are planning to shatter the peace of a small rural community. (via amazon.com)
    • Bridge to the Sun – DVD – 1961 feature based on a true story of an American woman who falls in love with an marries a Japanese diplomat. The story follows their life and trials as they deal with the fall out of the Pearl Harbor bombing, agression against foreigners, and then the surrender of Japan to the USA. This disk comes from Warner Brothers Archive Collection, which means a make on demand DVD. Which seems like a smart idea, no massive back log of disks and the option to make money off of old movies.
    • Coriolanus – Blu/DVD – The classic legend of honor and betrayal has been astonishingly re-imagined in this exhilarating action thriller that wields a profound relevance for today. Caius Martius ‘Coriolanus’ is a feared and revered Roman General, suddenly pitted against his own city and fellow citizens. Rebelling against the power-hungry designs of his manipulative mother and rejected by his own people, Coriolanus incites a riot that expels him from Rome. The banished hero joins forces with his sworn enemy Tullus Aufidius to exact his revenge — and determine his destiny. (via amazon.com) This film features Ralph Fiennes as director and lead actor, Gerard Butler, Brian Cox, and Vanessa Redgrave.
    • Dragon Age: Dawn of the Seeker – Blu/DVD – In a land where battles are fought with swords and magic, a young heroine rises to glory as Templars, mages, and dragons clash. Cassandra, a brash and beautiful warrior, must stop a conspiracy that threatens the realm’s most powerful religious order. Accused of treasonous crimes and hunted by friend and foe, Cassandra must clear her name and overcome her rage in order to save the day and take her place in legend. (via amazon.com)
    • Joyful Noise – Blu/DVD – Joyful Noise tells the story of an unlikely partnership between two strong-minded women who are forced to work together to save a small town Gospel Choir after budget cuts threaten to shut them down. (amazon.com) Featuring Queen Latifah and Dolly Parton.
    • Life Without Principle – DVD – Life Without Principle delves into Hong Kong’s money-obsessed culture through three characters whose destinies collide one fateful day when a loan shark gets assaulted after withdrawing $10 million from the bank. (via amazon.com) Sounds like classic Hong Kong action goodness.
    • A Necessary Death – DVD – Film student Gilbert has a novel idea for his final thesis project — find someone who wants to kill themselves and follow them through the final days of their life. Gilbert posts a message on the internet looking for a suitable subject, and after interviewing a handful of people with various reasons for taking their life, he chooses a British expatriate who is slowly dying of an inoperable brain tumor. Assured that his subject will actually commit suicide on film, Gilbert believes he has found the perfect candidate to explore the nature of the act objectively. But as filming goes on, it soon becomes apparent that the creative process is impacting the man’s road towards death, and before long Gilbert and his crew become more involved than they ever wanted to be. (via amazon.com)
    • We Need to Talk About Kevin – Blu/DVD – A suspenseful and gripping psychological thriller, Lynne Ramsay’s We Need To Talk About Kevin explores the fractious relationship between a mother and her evil son. Eva contends for 15 years with the increasing malevolence of her first-born child, Kevin. Based on the best-selling novel of the same name, We Need To Talk About Kevin explores nature vs. nurture on a whole new level as Eva’s own culpability is measured against Kevin’s innate evilness. Ramsay’s masterful storytelling simultaneously combines a provocative moral ambiguity with a satisfying and compelling narrative, which builds to a chilling, unforgettable climax. (via amazon.com)
    • Wing Commander Academy: the Complete Series – DVD – A spirited and elite corps of novice fighter pilots attends the Wing Commander Academy in the year 2655. Often thrust into battle against the mighty and ruthless Kilrathi race, the crew must master daring maneuvers and veer through constant danger to save the world. (via amazon.com) Animated series based on a very the very successful video games of the time.

The conflict between the two men turns into guerrilla warfare between the two outfits.
    • Gamera: the Brave – Blu – Gamera The Brave contrasts the strained relationship between a father and his son with the strong bond of a boy and a young monster growing up together.
