The Core:

Movies:

  • New Releases 10/11/2012 www.fandango.com

DVD/Blu-ray:

  • Prometheus (blu/dvd) – Ridly Scott’s latest foray into the world of Alien. No word on if this release is the “director’s cut”
  • Mortal Kombat (blu) – Kan’t not mention this bit of “awesome” video game to movie transitions, still better than Street Fighter
  • E.T. The Extra Terrestrial: Anniversay Edition (blu/dvd) – Remastered from the original film stock for HD. Dumps the dumb edits that were added in for the theatrical release a few years ago
  • The Rock: Action Pack (blu/dvd) – Doom, The Scorpion King, and The Rundown; a collection of the charmingly charismatic Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson
  • What Ever Happened to Baby Jane: 50th Anniversay Edition – A classic remastered for the modern age. The story follows two sisters and former stars, one a child star of vaudeville, the other a silent film actress, in their later years as they deal with waning fame and jealousy over who’s star rose higher.
  • A Cat in Paris (blu/dvd) – a oscar nominated hand drawn animation feature, about a cat that lives with a detective by day and works with a thief by night

Video Games:

Comics:

Marvel:

  • Uncanny Avengers #1 – First title of the new Marvel Now
  • The Secret Service #4 (of 7) Mark Millar is good at this espinage thing and a mini series is always a nice way to get into comics

 DC:

  • Ame-Girls #1 – Featuring Wonder Woman the creative team behind Power Girl is making a wider sweep in characters
  • Batman #13 – Return of the Joker
 Indie:
  • Transfusion #1 – Post apocolyptic horror, monsters and robots!
  • MacGyver #1 – The mullet returns to make surpising results out of seemingly nothing
  • Haunted Horror #1 – A collection of banned horror comics from the Golden Age of comics
  • Holloween Eve – one shot – The creative team is a pair of industry pros trying their hand at a creator owned work
Web:
  • The Phoenix Requiem – a interesting spin on a ghost story, beautifully painted and written by Sarah Ellerton  http://requiem.seraph-inn.com/
