In Theaters:

  • Rams – In a secluded valley in Iceland, Gummi and Kiddi live side by side, tending to their sheep. Their ancestral sheep-stock is considered one of the country’s best and the two brothers are repeatedly awarded for their prized rams who carry an ancient lineage. Although they share the land and a way of life, Gummi and Kiddi have not spoken to each other in four decades. When a lethal disease suddenly infects Kiddi’s sheep, the entire valley comes under threat.
  • The Choice – Travis Shaw (Benjamin Walker) and Gabby Holland (Teresa Palmer) meet as neighbors in a small coastal town and end up pursuing a relationship that neither could have foreseen. Spanning a decade and tracing the evolution of a love affair that is ultimately tested by life’s most defining events, this story culminates in the question that every couple must ask themselves: how far would you go to keep the hope of love alive?
  • Hail, Caesar! – Set during the latter years of Hollywood’s Golden Age, Hail, Caesar! follows a single day in the life of a studio fixer who is presented with plenty of problems to fix.
  • Pride and Prejudice and Zombies – Jane Austen’s classic tale of the tangled relationships between lovers from different social classes in 19th century England is faced with a new challenge — an army of undead zombies.

Music:

  • Commontime by Field Music – This is the fifth full-length studio release from the indie brother duo of Peter and David Brewis.
  • Is the Is Are by DIIV – The second full-length release for the Brooklyn-based indie rock band led by Zachary Cole Smith was self-recorded and produced.
  • Human Ceremony by Sunflower Bean – The debut full-length release for the Brooklyn trio of Julia Cumming, Nick Kivlen, and Jacob Faberwas produced by Matt Molnar.
  • The Ghosts of Highway 20 by Lucinda Williams – he 12th full-length studio release for the singer-songwriter was inspired by the highway that runs through Florida and Texas.

  • Bridge of Spies – Blu/DVD – In the chill of the “Cold War” a Brooklyn lawyer is brought in by the CIA to negotiate the release of a downed U2 pilot. The film features a deep bench of talent from Stephen Spielberg, to Tom Hanks, and the Coen bothers have a writing credit.
  • Show Me a Hero – Blu/DVD – An HBO produced mini series from some of the creative team from The Wire, about Yonkers mayor Nick Wasicsko. Based on true events the story centers on the racial tension in the public housing projects.
  • Suffragette – Blu/DVD – In the early 20th century, a working wife and mother finds herself turned upside down when she rises to the call of being an activist for women’s voting rights in the UK.
  • Man Up – Blu/DVD – After many dismal dates, Nancy is ready to give up the dating life. Although when Jack mistakes her for his blind date, things become complicated. Can they “man up” and deal with their own weird baggage and make a lasting relationship.

Comics:

DC

  • Batman Detective Comics #49 – Jim Gordon begins to stretch his legs as The Batman. He has reopened a cold case, that as Police Commissioner he was unable to follow up on. With this new found ability to investigate it calls into question the system he held dear. Where in this moral gray area does justice live?

Marvel

  • Deadpool: Mercs for Money #1 – Deadpool is an Avenger now, which has like responsibilities and stuff. But the Deadpool gang, Stingray, Massacre, Solo, Foolkiller, Terror and Slapstick, or better known as Mercs for Money will gladly take said money and make your problems (a) vanish (b) stabbed (c) blood spot (d) … well you get the idea.

Dark Horse

  • Angel & Faith #23 – Archaeus wants the power of the sentient magic of Magic Town for himself. But this power is not entirely stable. Now the team must work as one to foil the Big Bad and protect Magic Town, just as soon as they get back to trusting each other.
