In Theaters:

  • A Ballerina’s Tale – A feature documentary on African American ballerina Misty Copeland that examines her prodigious rise, her potentially career ending injury alongside themes of race and body image in the elite ballet world.
  • Bridge of Spies – Bridge of Spies tells the story of James Donovan (Tom Hanks), a Brooklyn lawyer who finds himself thrust into the center of the Cold War when the CIA sends him on the near-impossible task to negotiate the release of a captured American U-2 pilot.
  • Crimson Peak – In the aftermath of a family tragedy, an aspiring author is torn between love for her childhood friend and the temptation of a mysterious outsider. Trying to escape the ghosts of her past, she is swept away to a house that breathes, bleeds…and remembers.
  • Goosebumps – Upset about moving from a big city to a small town, teenager Zach Cooper (Dylan Minnette) finds a silver lining when he meets the beautiful girl, Hannah (Odeya Rush), living right next door. But every silver lining has a cloud, and Zach’s comes when he learns that Hannah has a mysterious dad who is revealed to be R. L. Stine (Jack Black), the author of the bestselling Goosebumps series. It turns out that there is a reason why Stine is so strange… he is a prisoner of his own imagination – the monsters that his books made famous are real, and Stine protects his readers by keeping them locked up in their books.
  • The Assassin – 9th century China. 10-year-old general’s daughter Nie Yinniang is abducted by a nun who initiates her into the martial arts, transforming her into an exceptional assassin charged with eliminating cruel and corrupt local governors. One day, having failed in a task, she is sent back by her mistress to the land of her birth, with orders to kill the man to whom she was promised – a cousin who now leads the largest military region in North China. After 13 years of exile, the young woman must confront her parents, her memories and her long-repressed feelings.

  • Fading Frontier by Deerhunter – The seventh full-length studio release for the Atlanta indie rock band was produced with Ben H. Allen III.
  • The Color Before the Sun by Coheed and Cambria – The eigth full-length studio release for the alternative/progressive rock band is its first not tied to the Sanchez’s conceptual Amory Wars story.

  • Minecraft: Story Mode – A Telltale Games Series Coming Oct 13, 2015 PC MAC XONE X360 PS4 PS3 IOS AND WIIU VITA Sounds like none of the reviewers or devs out there are taking this seriously. I kinda hope Telltale teaches them a thing

DVD/Blu-ray:

  • Dope – Blu/DVD – A trio of geeky and awkward high school boys go on the misadventure of a life time when they are invited to a mysterious underground party.
  • San Andreas – Blu/DVD – What if “The Big One” were to actually come like the doom sayers claim it would? This is the central event, in which a search and rescue helicopter pilot must team up with his estranged wife to save their only daughter. I hear is technically bunk, but it is fun to watch.
  • Tomorrowland – Blu/DVD – A high school girl dreams of a gleaming, beautiful world out there. A future where a journey to the stars is but the beginning. But the reality isn’t nearly as true … or could it be? There are forces the would see the despair be true, but the hope remains, and if the movie is to be believed it grows or more specifically it can grow and it’s for all of humanity.
  • Ghost in the Shell: Arise: Borders (disk 3 and 4 of 4) – blu/DVD – The last two parts of the origin of Major Motoko Kusinagi. The story is about her first real case as part of the military police’s special forces. It also sheds light onto the mysterious beginnings of Section 5’s lead investigator.

DC

  • Batman #45 – The Bat is nearly taken out! Gordon must give some heavy thought to what it means to wear the cape and cowl.

Marvel

  • Spider-Gwen #1 – Spider-woman thought, that the reign of The Lizard ended in her arms. But a creature with a similar M.O. has appeared in the sewers of New York. Questions and doubt runs deep as Gwen untangles this mystery. This issue also ushers in the Osborne legacy here on Earth-65.

Dark Horse

  • Eve – Valkyrie #1 – The space borne universe of Eve: Online has many legends, not the least of which is the Valkyrie, the most elite fighter squadron! This series leads up the release of the game by the same title.

  • The Walking Dead #147 – Survivors out in the open.
  • I Hate Fairyland #1 – Scottie Young debuts a brand new solo production! Gert is in the magical world of Fairyland and she’s be stuck there, for thirty years! Now she’s more than ready to go home, and with her trusty battle axe, she’s getting there! It’s fairy tales meets Tank Girl with a healthy dose of Deadpool-esque mayhem, so um … not for the kiddies.

IDW Publishing

  • Jem and The Holograms #8 – In the brilliant glow of the spotlight and the hard light holograms, Jerrica Benton and her sisters shine. But what does it mean to be Jem?
