In Theaters:

  • The Walk – Twelve people have walked on the moon, but only one man has ever, or will ever, walk in the immense void between the World Trade Center towers. Guided by his real-life mentor, Papa Rudy (Ben Kingsley), and aided by an unlikely band of international recruits, Philippe Petit (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) and his gang overcome long odds, betrayals, dissension and countless close calls to conceive and execute their mad plan.
  • The Martian – During a manned mission to Mars, Astronaut Mark Watney (Matt Damon) is presumed dead after a fierce storm and left behind by his crew. With only meager supplies, he must draw upon his ingenuity, wit and spirit to subsist and find a way to signal to Earth that he is alive.
  • Freeheld – A decorated New Jersey police detective, Laurel Hester (Julianne Moore) is diagnosed with cancer and wants to leave her hard earned pension to her domestic partner, Stacie Andree (Ellen Page) . However the county officials, Freeholders, conspire to prevent Laurel from doing this. Hard-nosed detective Dane Wells (Michael Shannon), and activist Steven Goldstein (Steve Carell), unite in Laurel and Stacie’s defense, rallying police officers and ordinary citizens to support their struggle for equality.
  • Taxi – Director Jafar Panahi drives a yellow cab through the vibrant streets of Tehran, picking up a diverse group of passengers in a single day. Each man, woman, and child candidly expresses his or her own view of the world, while being interviewed by the curious and gracious driver/director. His camera, placed on the dashboard of his mobile film studio, captures a spirited slice of Iranian society while also brilliantly redefining the borders of comedy, drama and cinema.

Music:

  • Hot Streak by The Winery Dogs – HOT STREAK shows the powerfully pedigreed trio s initial burst of collective chemistry was no accident, from the strum and headbang of Captain Love to the propulsive uplifting vibe of The Bridge to the introspective acoustic harmonic convergence of Fire. If these three Dogs thought they captured lightning in a supper dish the first time around, HOT STREAK barks ups the aural ante into exciting new territory.
  • Unbreakable by Janet Jackson – No album info, but want to mention superbowl fiasco(hit radio hard) and how Justin Timberlake got off easy compared to Ms. Jackson.
  • Condition Human by QUEENSRYCHE – no album info.
  • See What You Started By Continuing by Collective Soul – See What You Started By Continuing is the long-awaited new album from the multi-platinum selling band Collective Soul. With seven #1 hits, Collective Soul helped to sonically define alternative rock. They return now on their ninth album, and first in six years, with new hits including “This” and “AYTA.” Produced by Ed Roland and engineered and mixed by long-time collaborator Shawn Grove.
  • Kill The Flaw by Sevendust – You don’t have to change everything. However, realigning can be the healthiest remedy after nearly two decades in the music business. Going into their eleventh full-length album, Kill The Flaw, Sevendust changed a lot around them regarding the infrastructure of their organization, but they didn’t alter what matters the most—the music.
  • Tug Of War by Paul McCartney – The newest release in the Paul McCartney Archive Collection. Personally supervised by Paul McCartney. Newly remixed using the original analogue multi-track tapes and mastered at Abbey Road Studios in London. Tug of War, originally released in 1982, is the third solo album by Paul McCartney. Now the assembled team must bring down a threat of their own creation.
  • Entourage Blu/DVD – The group of the famous and those near the famous moves from the smaller screen to the big screen! There’s not much more to say, the cast returned, they made a movie. It also comes well recommended by critics and audiences alike.
