New Releases
In Theaters:

- Aloft : As we follow a mother (Jennifer Connelly) and her son (Cillian Murphy), we delve into a past marred by an accident that tears them apart. She will become a renowned artist and healer, and he will grow into his own and a peculiar falconer who bears the marks of a double absence. In the present, a young journalist (Mélanie Laurent) will bring about an encounter between the two that puts the very meaning of life and art into question, so that we may contemplate the possibility of living life to its fullest, despite the uncertainties littering our paths.

DVD/Blu-ray:
- American Sniper – Blu/DVD – A Navy SEALs sniper, healded as one of the greatest, protects his fellow soldiers and does his best to be a husband and father. Not a mean feat. Once home, he must come to grips with the scars left from the battlefield.
- Hot Tub Time Machine 2 – Blu/DVD – The cult hit gets a squel, made by the same creative team. This time the time machine winds up in the future! Now to protect the present, which is the past, they must fix the future. Got all that?
- Strange Magic – DVD – Deep in the forest George Lucas’ mind hached a film. An animated feature based on A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Brought to brilliant life by Lucasfilm Animation and ILM. – The site I get these from claims that only the DVD will be available; I can only assume that the Blu-ray won’t be far behind.
- Girlhood – Blu/DVD – A French language film, that focuses on Marieme a young woman fed up with her the abuses of her family, her future education, and the “boys’ law” of her neighborhood. She finds connection with a group of other like minded girls, then begins a downward spiral of decisions that lead to a place where she has none of the self actualization that she saught in the first place. Thus she takes her life back into her own hands.
- Cymbeline – Blu/DVD – Based on the Shakespeare play by the same name, this explosive drama is set against the back drop of a drug kingpin, an outlaw biker gang, and a group of dirty cops. As you may have guessed this isn’t one of the comedies.
Comics:
DC (Yes, Convergence is the big thing, but there is more out there and the great cape storyline retcon)
- Mad Max: Fury Road – Nux & Immortal Joe #1 – While bleak, the road that Max Rockatansky drives is astonishingly rich in character. This offers some history around Nux the War Boy and how Immortal Joe became a feared War Boss! See you in shiny Valhalla!
Marvel
- A-Force #1 – In a hidden corner of the Battleworld there is an island guarded by a team of Avengers that should never be counted out! (Caleb – I’m interested in this title for many reasons…and one of them is She-Hulk on the cover. Not sure exactly why, it’s just really kinda rad.)
Dark Horse
- Archie vs. Predator #2 – Back in Riverdale the gang heave a sigh of relief. But is seems the alien menace has followed them!
Image
- Fade Out #6 – In “Tinsel Town” there are no shortages of mysteries. The latest one to fall through the cracks is Valerie Sommer, but this time someone is looking for answers, Charlie and Gil to be exact. Their latest lead is former child star “Flapjack” Jones, who is missing. Yep, nothing weird here.
IDW
- Jem and the Holograms #3 – The Holograms star is climbing even higher with their latest video, and it nabs them a spot in the Starlight Foundation’s fundraiser. The Misfits jealous begins to cloud their judgement, and they plot a way to up or un-stage the shining upstarts. (I add this because I saw the new trailer and if you want Jem and the Holograms with character, you’re better off with this.)
